MEYERSDALE — The phrase “like mother, like daughter” rang true Wednesday at the Somerset County Fair’s dairy cow show. While typically cows from the Holstein family win big, it was a 9-year-old Brown Swiss owned by Troy Hostetter that won supreme champion in the open show. Hostetter, of Hostetter Dairy Farm in Rockwood, has been showing cows for 20 years, but never won supreme champion. He said his cow, Jackie, won because she was in good condition for her age. |
